Sipi Falls: Where Water Meets Wonder in Uganda’s East
Sipi Falls is a series of three beautiful waterfalls located in eastern Uganda, near Mount Elgon National Park and the Kenyan border. The falls are situated in the Kapchorwa district, about a 4-hour drive from Kampala. They are known for their stunning views, lush greenery, and opportunities for hiking, abseiling, and swimming.
Location: Sipi Falls is situated in the Kapchorwa district, near Mount Elgon National Park and the Kenyan border, in eastern Uganda. Waterfalls: The falls consist of three separate waterfalls, with the largest being known as Sipi Falls, reaching a height of 95 meters (312 feet).
Activities: Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, abseiling (rappel) down the falls, and swimming in the natural pools (especially during the dry season).
Nature: The area is known for its stunning views, lush greenery, and diverse flora and fauna.
Hiking: Sipi Falls serves as a starting point for many hikes to the summit of Mount Elgon, including the popular Sasa trail route.
