DAY 1 – Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your Hotel in Kampala for overnight stay relax and prepare for your adventure starting the next day.
DAY 2 – After breakfast and briefing from the guide start your birding journey towards Mabamba Wetland Swamp and spend a whole day birding in Mabamba which is a home to over 300 species of birds including the Rare Shoebill stork bird. This wetland, located on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, is a prime spot for bird watching due to its unique habitat and diverse avian population. Other species like African Fish Eagle, Goliath Heron, Papyrus specialist, Papyrus Gonolek, papyrus Yellow Warbler. In the evening transfer to your Safari lodge for relaxation and over night.
DAY 3 – After your breakfast, leave for lake Mburo national park with a stop over at the equator line for photos and some geographical experiments continue Birding drive up to lake Mburo national. Lake Mburo national park is a bird watcher’s paradise with 300 species of birds such as African Fish Eagle, Lilac-breasted Roller, African Grey Hornbill, Red and Yellow Barbet, White browed Robin-Chat, African Pygmy Kingfisher arrive late evening and transfer to your booked Safari lodge.
DAY 4 – After breakfast, carry packed lunch take a birding drive within the park taking Mihingo loop good for spotting birds like Hadeda Ibis, African Grey Hornbill, continue with a boat ride on lake Mburo to spot African Fish Eagle, Egyptian Goose and Spur Winged Plover, Rweshega Area and Kiruhura track to see variety of species of birds return to the lodge late evening for relaxation and over night.
DAY 5 – After breakfast, carry packed lunch and start birding while heading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is a home of over 220 species of birds. The Park’s unique habitat with its montane forests supports a diverse range of birdlife, including some Albertine Rift Endemics, African Green Broadbill, Shelley’s Crimson wing, kungwe Apalis, Red – Collared Babbler. Stop at the Lake Bunyonyi for sight-seeing and photos arrive late evening and transfer to your lodge for overnight.
DAY 6 – Morning go for Gorilla tracking depending on the location of Mountain Gorillas after the tracking activity an option of birding in the afternoon.
DAY 7 – After breakfast, taking birding walk in the Ruhija Sector that is Ruhija visitor center area, you will see birds such as Woodland and forest species, Bamboo forest spot species like African Hill Babbler and a lot forest bird species Like the Turaco, Forest hornbill, Barbets, Albertine Rift Endemics. Return to the lodge in the evening for overnight stay.
DAY 8 – After breakfast, start birding drive to the Ishahsa Sector in Queen Elizabeth is a home to diverse range of bird species expect to see Birds of prey, Long-crested Eagle, Martial Eagle, African Fish Eagle Ross’s Turaco, Grey Woodpecker, African Green Pigeon, White-headed Barbet.
DAY 9 – After breakfast, carry packed lunch start birding drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. Queen Elizabeth is home of 600 bird species making it one of Uganda’s most diverse habitats such as African Fish Eagle, Great White Pelican, Goliath Heron, Grey Woodpecker, Long Crested Eagle. The Park’s diverse habitats including savanna’s wetlands and forest supports a wide range of bird life. Arrive late evening and transfer to your lodge for over night.
DAY 10 – After breakfast, take a birding drive towards Kasenyi Area expect to see African Jacana, Spur-winged Plover, Malachite Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Lilac – Breasted Roller and a Boat cruise on Kazinga channel for birding water bird species such as African Skimmer, Egyptian Goose, African Jacana among others return to the lodge in the evening for overnight stay.
DAY 11 – After breakfast, take a birding walk in Maramagambo forest to look out for Forest Bird species and in the afternoon a game drive to see some wildlife.
DAY 12 – After breakfast, Drive to Kibale forest national park a home of 375 bird species the park’s tropical rainforest habitat supports a diverse range of birdlife, including some Albertine Rift Endemics this forest is a highlight for birdwatcher’s and nature enthusiast visiting the park check in at your lodge and take a birding walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
DAY 13 – Morning chimpanzee tracking and Bird watching in the afternoon within the forest and Bigodi wetland sanctuary.
DAY 14 – After breakfast and briefing from the guide, leave for Murchison Falls National Park while birding on the road and Bugungu wildlife reserve you will spot bird like Pelicans, Herons, Shoebill, African Fish Eagle, Grey-crowned Cranes, Pied Kingfisher, Red-throated Bee-eater continue and arrive Murchison Falls late evening and transfer to your lodge for over night.
DAY 15 – Morning breakfast and take a game drive following the Buligi track and Albert track expect to see Giraffes, Elephants, Buffalos, Antelopes such as the Uganda Kobs, Big Cats such as lions, Leopards, Hyenas, and in the afternoon Birding on River Nile expecting to see a lot of water bird species up to the bottom of Murchison Falls.
DAY 16 – After breakfast and briefing from the guide, leave for Kidepo Valley National Park and enter the park with a game drive spend the whole afternoon birding drive. Kidepo Valley National is a home to over 463 species of birds such as Egyptian Vulture, Pygmy Falcon, Tawny Eagle, Ostrich birds, Kori Bustard, Karamoja Apalis, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Jackson’s Hornbill. Transfer to the lodge in the evening for overnight stay.
DAY 17 – After breakfast, take a game drive in the morning towards Narusu valley expect to see a lot of wild life species Zebras, Elephants, Buffalos, Lions Uganda Kobs, Giraffes it’s in this park that one can literally see in one herd between 1500 – 2000 Buffalos. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch and in the afternoon visit the Kidepo Valley area to look for out for Ostrich birds.
DAY 18 – After breakfast, carry packed lunch start birding drive within the park and birding walk towards the Kidepo valley where you will find a lot of Ostrich birds in this area. Kidepo is the only National park in Uganda where you will find Ostriches.
DAY 19 – After breakfast, depart from Kidepo Valley National park and head to Sipi Falls via Kaboongo-Kotido-Moroto-Namalu highway en route at the Matheniko game reserve for a game drive arrive Sipi late afternoon and transfer to your lodge.
DAY 20 – After breakfast, Visit the Sipi Falls and in the afternoon take a birding walk. Sipi Falls itself is haven for bird watchers with over 450 species of birds
such as Tacazze Sunbird, Black-collared Apalis, African Blue Flycatcher return to the Lodge in the evening for relaxation and overnight.
DAY 21 – After breakfast, return to Kampala with a stop over in Jinja to see the source of river Nile and then continue and arrive Kampala late afternoon depending on your flight departures you will transfer to Entebbe international Airport to later catch your flight back home.
